The Boeing Company is offering an exciting opportunity through its IAM/Boeing Joint Apprenticeship Program for a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice, located in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. This is a comprehensive 5-year apprenticeship program that combines 10,000 hours of paid on-the-job training with essential classroom education. Apprentices will receive hands-on experience vital to becoming skilled technicians equipped to maintain complex mechanical and plumbing systems within Boeing’s production and facility environments. The program starts with a 20% probationary period, which allows new apprentices to adjust and gain practical experience in their roles. Throughout the school year, apprentices are expected to attend at least 144 unpaid hours of classroom instruction registered through a local community and technical college.

This apprenticeship follows a structured wage progression system as stipulated by the collective bargaining agreement between the International Association of Machinists District 751 and Boeing. As a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice, you will play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing vital plumbing and mechanical systems that ensure smooth operations within Boeing’s facilities. This role involves working with diverse systems, such as steam equipment, pneumatic controls, sprinkler systems, valves, and pumps. You will develop technical expertise in diagnosing system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and improving system reliability.
