Job Description
Northwest Aerospace Technologies (NAT), a Safran Company, is a leading aircraft interior reconfiguration group based in the United States. As the only EASA DOA Certified organization of its kind in the country, NAT specializes in delivering customized, high-quality aircraft component parts and interiors for both commercial and military aircraft. With a strong focus on design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing, NAT proudly serves a distinguished list of Blue-Chip clients. Safran Cabin headquarters in Costa Mesa, California, extends its global presence with more than 11,000 employees across 36 locations worldwide, spanning the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Germany, France, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Tunisia, and Thailand. This extensive network supports over 400 airlines and leasing companies and collaborates closely with all airframe Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), bringing a heritage of over 80 years to the aerospace industry.
The Fabricator Assembler 1-3 at Northwest Aerospace Technologies is a pivotal role within the manufacturing and production division. The position entails fabricating and assembling highly customized aircraft interior components according to precise, customer-specific design mandates. Unlike traditional assembly line jobs, this role focuses on low repetition, high customization, and craftsmanship, making it ideal for individuals who thrive in a prototype and development environment. Fabricator Assemblers at NAT work on projects that vary in complexity from entry-level tasks (Level 1) to those requiring subject matter expertise (Level 3), demanding adaptability, meticulous attention to detail, and specialized technical skills.
As a Fabricator Assembler, you will expertly fabricate and assemble interior panels and assemblies by following program-specific processes. The job requires handling multiple projects simultaneously with a commitment to stringent quality and customization standards. Responsibilities include material handling involving adhesives, resins, honeycomb cores, carpets, fiberglass, and aluminum; installation of fittings such as latches, hinges, and brackets; and performing finishing work like decorative applications, complex bending, and vinyl laminate layups tailored to project specifications. Tool operation is a core component, utilizing an array of shop power tools such as routers, table saws, band saws, drill presses, pneumatic tools, rivet guns, and specialty grinders.
Quality control is integral to the role, involving consistent visual inspections, in-process rework, and record maintenance to ensure all fabricated components meet exacting standards. Problem-solving skills are highly valued as Fabricator Assemblers must proactively identify and address fabrication and assembly challenges, preserving both product integrity and production schedules. Candidates must be adept at interpreting and adapting technical drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions to deliver precision-fit parts. Maintaining a safe, organized working environment in adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
In addition to these technical capabilities, behavioral competencies such as teamwork, leadership by example, reliability, willingness to learn, strong communication skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task under pressure, and an exceptional eye for detail are essential for success in this role. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and maintaining hearing and vision within normal ranges to safely navigate the manufacturing floor.
Northwest Aerospace Technologies offers a unique career opportunity characterized by innovation, development, and extensive employee support. Safran is committed to internal mobility, allowing employees the potential to explore global opportunities within the organization. Continuous learning is encouraged through free access to Safran University courses and tuition reimbursement for approved certifications and programs. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision health care, life insurance, 401(k) savings plans with company match, paid time off, and access to Safran Perks with BenefitHub, offering employee discounts and rewards for various consumer products and services.
The annual salary range for this full-time permanent position spans approximately $37,800 to $71,890, reflecting different levels of expertise and experience. Located at 415 Riverside Rd., Everett, Washington, this position places candidates in a vibrant aerospace hub with ample growth and development possibilities. With its commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment, Safran Cabin fosters an inclusive workplace where all individuals are valued regardless of race, gender, age, disability, or any other legally protected status.
