Ferguson is currently seeking a skilled Fabrication Manager for its La Porte, Texas location, responsible for overseeing the operations of the Fabrication facility within the pipe yard. This role is crucial in managing welding projects and coordinating the efforts of skilled welders while strictly ensuring workplace safety compliance. The Fabrication Manager will lead operational oversight of the Mechanical Fabrications shop, manage welding procedures and certifications for manual and semi-automatic processes such as SAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW, and implement advanced workflow software such as STRATUS to enhance project scheduling and efficiency.

This role requires a candidate capable of balancing operational performance with fostering a positive work culture that promotes career development and morale. The Fabrication Manager will also maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, contribute to strategic planning with business groups, and directly influence sales growth in the designated area. Safety leadership is a priority, with responsibilities including enforcing safety protocols, conducting workplace accident investigations, and coordinating with corporate safety officers on corrective actions.

The position offers a competitive monthly salary range of $4,124.70 to $9,075.00 and is eligible for bonus or incentive plans. Job Requirements

10+ years of relevant work experience
Proven welding and fabrication expertise
Solid understanding of welding codes
Ability to lead and motivate a team
Proficiency with computers and software
Effective communication skills
Hands-on experience with welding techniques and equipment

Job Qualifications

10+ years of proven experience is preferred to perform at expectation
Demonstrate ability to perform multi-pass, all position fillet and butt welds using SWAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding)
Solid understanding of welding codes: AWS, ASME, MIL-STD, AISC, & ABS
Expertise in welding power sources, wire feeders, and welding consumables
Knowledge of welding techniques including oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, and TIG or equivalent experience, tools, and equipment
Hands-on experience and confirmed training on pre and post heating, surface hardening, and weld inspections
Detailed knowledge of welding processes
Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams
Proficient in operating computers, tablets, and mobile devices
Strong communication skills
develop and articulate (written and verbal) data/process analysis, and alternative solutions
Knowledge of Micro Soft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

Job Duties

Operational oversight for our Mechanical Fabrications shop within our Brookshire pipe yard
Managing all weld procedures and certifications for manual and semi-automatic SAW, GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding procedures
Collaborate with Business Groups to implement strategy and increase sales in the defined area, including house accounts
Implement and manage STRATUS workflow software
Project scheduling for all projects, including LEAN Pull Plan Scheduling
Ensure that all associates align with corporate safety programs and that associates' safety training is complete and up to date
Complete all workplace accident investigations as required by the company's EH&S policy
Identify safety issues and hazards and notify the corporate safety officer of conditions that require corrective action
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors
Mentor associates, promote career development, boost morale, and foster Ferguson's outstanding culture
Balance performance standards with the cultural intangibles that make our company great
Ensure the locations in their designated area deliver world-class customer service with every transaction
