In this senior-level position, the Technical Project Manager applies formal project management principles and combines them with strong business analysis skills to oversee projects based on the quality and completion of their work products. The successful candidate serves as a primary interface with government stakeholders, providing authoritative and clear communication regarding project status, schedules, risks, and outcomes. Responsibilities include developing and managing detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project Professional, implementing quality control methodologies, and ensuring traceability between project objectives and deliverables.
This role supports the comprehensive lifecycle management of IT services related to the F-35 program, including enterprise performance management, architecture implementation, emerging capability integration, operations and maintenance, data management, service desk support, and IT training. The Technical Project Manager also promotes continuous process improvements through frameworks like Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), enhancing project predictability and repeatability.
Candidates must hold an active Secret security clearance, possess at least eight years of project management experience in large and complex enterprise environments, and demonstrate expertise with IT Service Management (ITSM) services, schedule development, and work breakdown structures. Key certifications include the Department of Defense (DoD) 8140.03 Work Role 802 IT Project Manager - Basic, as well as Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL Foundations, with ITIL certification to be attained within three months of hire. Education requirements are a bachelor’s degree (BS or BA), although extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
The position features a hybrid work model requiring two days onsite at Arlington, Virginia, and three days remote. The salary range is competitive, typically ranging from $107,744 to $143,750, adjusted based on experience, location, and contractual factors.
By joining GDIT as a Technical Project Manager, candidates will become part of a company that values growth, support, rewards, flexibility, and community. GDIT provides AI-powered career tools, an internal mobility team, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, 401(k) with company match, and a military-friendly, award-winning workplace culture. Take advantage of this meaningful opportunity to make a significant impact through your work on the F-35 Lightning II Program and advance your career in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
