The Delivery Driver role at Performance Foodservice is critical to the food supply chain in America. Drivers are responsible for transporting food and food service products safely and punctually from warehouse to customer. This position involves operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck on various routes that may include day, night, overnight layover, and transit schedules with flexibility needed to cover different routes as operational demands require. Drivers help maintain the integrity of fresh and frozen products through careful handling and ensure all deliveries meet quality standards. They are the frontline representatives of the company, building meaningful relationships with customers through consistent professionalism and reliable service.

This role requires a high level of responsibility to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while conducting thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards. Additionally, they handle necessary paperwork accurately, collect payments when required, and follow company policies for the secure loading and unloading of freight. Employment for this position is full-time, typically requiring between 40 to 70 hours per week. The schedule involves a 4 to 5-day work week, with dispatch times ranging mostly between 2:00 to 6:00 AM and availability needed Monday through Saturday.
