The Jack Stephens Center (JSC) at UA Little Rock is a vital facility within this thriving institution, hosting athletic events, community activities, and external functions. The position of Extra Help Assistant / JSC Event Staff is an essential role within the Jack Stephens Center, supporting the smooth operation of game days and other athletics facility events. This temporary, fixed-term staff position reports directly to the Director of Facilities and Game Operations and the Assistant Director of Facilities and Game Operations. The role supports managing athletic events' logistics and facility maintenance, ensuring events run efficiently and successfully.

This role requires individuals to be present at designated events, assist with crowd management, monitor entry points, verify tickets, and interact with guests, faculty, and staff professionally and courteously. An integral part of the role involves upholding excellent customer service standards and assisting with setting up and tearing down event equipment and concessions. The role demands physical activity, including the ability to lift and move athletic equipment up to 50 pounds and work evenings and weekends as events are scheduled.

The hourly wage for this role is $11.00. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in gaining event management experience within a vibrant educational and athletic environment. While the role does not offer sponsorship and is not benefits-eligible, it provides valuable hands-on exposure in a metropolitan research university setting. Job Duties

  • Monitor doors to ensure appropriate personnel are entering/existing
  • Verify ticket purchased for the game
  • Greet all faculty and staff, guests, families, etc., passing through
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer-service skills
  • Assist with managing the upkeep and appearance of the JSC facilities
  • Manage concessions and suites
  • Assist in set-up and tear down of events
  • Assist with special events and external events scheduled in athletics facilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
