Job Description

The University of North Florida (UNF) is a reputable public university recognized for its commitment to academic excellence and community engagement. As a Carnegie Community Engaged Institution, UNF emphasizes collaboration with community partners at local and global levels, reflecting its mission to contribute to the public good and prepare educated, engaged citizens. The university values diversity and inclusivity, ensuring a welcoming environment free from discrimination and harassment. It is dedicated to maintaining compliance with regulations such as Title IX and NCAA bylaws, reinforcing its commitment to ethical standards and responsible conduct.

The Athletics Department at UNF is currently seeking a qualified individual to join its Development-OPS team as a Fundraising Events and Development Operations Specialist. This is an hourly position compensated at $31.00 per hour. The role plays a vital part in supporting all major athletics fundraising and engagement events, which include key activities such as the Swoop Into the Season, Golf Classic, Blue & Gray Bash, and other donor-facing or sport-specific events. The specialist focuses on ensuring a high-quality experience for sponsors, donors, and attendees by managing event logistics, including planning timelines, vendor coordination, budgets, hospitality, staff arrangements, and engagement strategies.

In addition to event support, the role involves assisting with annual giving initiatives such as 904 Day, Giving Challenge, crowdfunding campaigns, and sport-specific fundraising efforts. These initiatives are crucial in fostering ongoing donor support and enhancing the overall fundraising success of the athletics program. The specialist will also contribute significantly to donor stewardship and experience by helping implement and execute comprehensive stewardship strategies. This includes ensuring timely acknowledgment, recognition, and engagement of athletics donors. Responsibilities extend to managing donor relations operations, encompassing reporting, donor communications, benefit fulfillment, and coordinating stewardship events.

Representation of the athletics department in cultivation and stewardship settings is an important aspect of the position, requiring interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to donor engagement. Furthermore, due to the sensitive nature of the role, the position holder is designated as a "Responsible Employee" under Title IX, which mandates reporting allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse. The position also requires adherence to NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference guidelines, ensuring compliance with all UNF regulations. Background and credit checks are prerequisites for this role, aligning with university policies to maintain a safe and secure environment. This opportunity offers a candidate the chance to contribute to the sustained growth and community impact of UNF athletics through strategic event management and donor relations, supporting the vibrant and dynamic environment of collegiate sports development.
