Job Description

Cavalry Court & The George is a distinguished hotel located in College Station, Texas, serving as an iconic pillar of the community. This hotel is uniquely positioned in the city and proudly operates under the Valencia Hotel Group umbrella, a renowned collection of hotels designed for today’s passionate traveler. Each property under the Valencia Hotel Group is intentionally crafted to showcase modern design elements blended seamlessly with classic character, making them stand out destinations for guests seeking exceptional experiences. Valencia Hotel Group is known for its commitment to quality service, innovation in hospitality, and fostering an inclusive work environment. This commitment extends to all its employees, making it a great place to grow a career and be part of a team that values excellence and community engagement.

We are currently seeking exceptional talent to join our award-winning team as an Express Meeting Manager. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding customer service to a diverse group of guests and ensuring smooth operations related to meetings and events. The Express Meeting Manager will be responsible for direct selling and coordinating meetings and meal functions primarily for groups of 30 rooms or less, catering to both corporate and social clientele. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building relationships, and has a passion for hospitality.

The role demands a hands-on approach where the Express Meeting Manager provides one-stop shopping for room and catering sales. This includes finalizing overnight room blocks and catering programs for a variety of booking types such as corporate groups, SMERF (social, military, educational, religious, and fraternal) groups, associations, and educational bookings. Impeccable customer satisfaction is paramount, and the individual will act as a key liaison between internal departments and external clients to guarantee this.

The Express Meeting Manager is also expected to conduct prospecting sales calls as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and may need to work evening and weekend hours when necessary to support group needs. The position involves significant direct telephone solicitation sales efforts with the aim to meet or exceed assigned revenue goals across several sales channels, including rooms, food and beverage, meeting room rental, and incremental revenue.

In addition to selling, this role involves ensuring that all guest transactions are conducted legally and ethically. Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients by anticipating needs and addressing problems promptly is crucial. The Express Meeting Manager must also practice effective revenue and yield management strategies, including strategic negotiation and booking of function spaces and focused solicitation during slow occupancy periods.

The job requires a comprehensive understanding of the hotel’s offerings and close collaboration with department heads to align on guest needs and ensure high service quality. Time management skills, business development expertise, knowledge of food and beverage operations, and strong sales techniques are critical to success in this role. The manager will handle contract negotiation and booking processes, maintain detailed reports including lost business files, and track business by market segment.

This position plays a key role in the overall success of the hotel by driving top-line revenue and building lasting client relationships. The Express Meeting Manager is an empowered position, providing opportunity for growth within the Valencia Hotel Group, which prides itself on being an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
