Job Description
Over Easy is a vibrant and welcoming restaurant brand known for its bright and inviting atmosphere. Emblematic of sunshine, Over Easy seeks to create an environment where both guests and employees feel warm, friendly, and approachable. The restaurant prides itself on being laid-back and easygoing, allowing team members to focus on delivering exceptional service without the stress of unnecessary complications. Its energy is upbeat and positive, not sugary or forced, reflecting a genuine desire to brighten every guest's day from the moment they arrive. Over Easy embodies authenticity with timeless and classic values, taking pride in being honest and humble without any pretense. This ensures that the employee and guest experience stays grounded in kindness and respect, emphasizing being good people who serve great food in a comfortable setting.
Working at Over Easy is more than just a job—it's about being part of a family that values loyalty and personal growth. The company offers its team members competitive wages coupled with a variety of employee benefits designed to support both personal well-being and professional development. The employee culture is built around core values of family and loyalty, demonstrated by a range of perks such as no late-night shifts so employees can have family time, employee and family discounts, and comprehensive medical benefits available after one year of service. Additional benefits include vision and dental insurance, long-term and short-term disability coverage, paid time off for holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, and a complimentary birthday meal to make each team member feel appreciated.
The role of the Expo/Food Runner at Over Easy is crucial to the smooth operation of the service floor. This position centers on controlling the flow of food from the kitchen to the guests, ensuring that every plate leaving the kitchen is perfectly prepared and presented according to Over Easy’s strict brand standards. This means adhering closely to portion sizes, cooking methods, recipes, and quality assurances to maintain consistency and excellence in every dish served. The Expo/Food Runner acts as the essential communication link between the kitchen staff and the guests by delivering meals promptly while engaging with guests to ensure their satisfaction and addressing any additional needs.
This position also involves preparatory responsibilities such as stocking sauces and butters for efficient culinary service during busy hours, managing proper storage and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness, and following presentation guidelines to guarantee an appealing and uniform plate setup. Besides the operational tasks, the role includes routine duties like completing daily opening and closing checklists to keep the workstation organized and compliant with all standards.
Candidates suitable for this position are energetic, fun, and eager team members who thrive in a high-volume restaurant environment. Strong communication skills are imperative for this role as the Expo/Food Runner must collaborate effectively with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams. Physical stamina is also essential, as the job involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing activities such as bending and stooping. Prospective employees must be at least 16 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
Overall, the Expo/Food Runner at Over Easy is an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to be part of a dynamic and supportive team where they can develop professionally while contributing to a positive dining experience. The role offers a balanced work schedule that respects personal time and encourages growth, making it ideal for motivated candidates who enjoy fast-paced environments and value a team-oriented workplace.
