The Expo position at Over Easy is a pivotal role in the smooth operation of the kitchen and guest service. The person in this role acts as the gatekeeper of quality, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's high standards for preparation, presentation, and timing. The Expo must have an intimate knowledge of Over Easy’s brand standards, including portion sizes, cooking methods, recipes, and quality benchmarks to maintain consistency and excellence. This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining sauces and butters, managing inventory and storage protocols, overseeing proper plate presentation and garnishing, and completing daily opening and closing procedures. The Expo works closely with both back-of-house and front-of-house staff to facilitate timely service and enhance the overall guest experience. This position requires a detail-oriented, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at multitasking and communication. Job Requirements
- Must maintain a valid Food Handlers’ certification
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be at least 16 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a high-volume kitchen or restaurant preferred
- Must maintain a valid Food Handlers’ certification
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented and able to ensure accuracy of all orders leaving the kitchen
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Works well under pressure and communicates effectively with both BOH and FOH staff
- Knowledge of menu items, presentation standards, and timing is preferred
- Must be at least 16 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Duties
- Delivers the perfect plate in a timely manner while connecting with guests and making sure they have everything they need
- Responsible for knowing all Over Easy food Brand Standards including portion sizes, cooking methods, recipes, and quality standards
- Prepares, stocks, and maintains sufficient levels of prepped sauces and butters to ensure a smooth and efficient service
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
- Completes daily opening and closing checklist
