Job Description
Torchys Tacos originated in Austin, Texas in 2006, rapidly growing from a humble food trailer into a renowned nationwide restaurant chain known for serving high-quality, creative tacos and a vibrant dining experience. The company prides itself on its dedication to providing guests with the best flavors and atmosphere, combining Texas-inspired boldness with a commitment to excellence and community. Torchys emphasizes team culture, hospitality, and culinary craftsmanship that resonates with guests and volunteers alike.
The Food Expeditor position at Torchys is vital in maintaining the seamless operation between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring every order meets the company's rigorous standards for quality and accuracy. This role is key for monitoring ticket times, verifying order accuracy, and managing food preparation stations to uphold Torchys signature excellence. The Food Expeditor acts as a crucial liaison, facilitating communication with kitchen staff and runners to guarantee timely service while prioritizing guest safety, especially when handling allergy or special dietary requests.
In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Food Expeditor oversees food portioning, prep activities, and kitchen station maintenance, ensuring all items are prepared, labeled, and stocked properly to support continuous service flow. Attention to cleanliness and organization is paramount, along with the ability to manage orders and maintain peak product freshness including chips and dips to enhance the overall guest experience. This role demands a high level of energy, work urgency, and a commitment to adding positive energy to the team atmosphere.
Torchys offers the Food Expeditor a competitive starting wage of $15.15 per hour with an additional tip share included on top of the hourly pay. Flexible scheduling accommodates personal and restaurant needs, making this an ideal position for individuals who thrive in a fast-moving and socially engaging work environment. Beyond wages, Torchys provides robust benefits for full-time team members, including medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year, a 401(k) retirement plan after six months, paid time off, and exclusive dining discounts. Additionally, the Torchys Family Foundation offers support to team members facing personal hardships, reflecting the companys strong commitment to care and community.
Working as a Food Expeditor at Torchys is more than a job — its a chance to join a growing brand rooted in quality, innovation, and camaraderie. Team members enjoy a collaborative environment where skill development, fun, and service excellence coexist, making Torchys a rewarding and fulfilling place to build a career in the hospitality industry.
