The Expo position at Red Mile is a vital role within the restaurant operations. Often referred to as the expeditor or food runner, the Expo acts as the crucial liaison between the kitchen staff and dining room to ensure a seamless food service experience. This role requires overseeing the accuracy and presentation of orders, coordinating the timing of dish delivery, and maintaining the pacing of service. The fast-paced nature of the position demands strong organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams. The Expo plays an essential role in orchestrating smooth workflow, managing potential bottlenecks, and contributing to an overall memorable dining occasion for guests. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as an Expo or Food Runner required
  • Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy and create a team environment
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Able and willing to work cooperatively with other team members
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as well as flexible shifts and hours due to business needs
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Position requires constant interaction with team members and customers
  • Ability to lift approximately 40lbs
  • Ability to be on feet for several hours
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Facilitate and streamline the accuracy of food orders, presentation, timely delivery and adhere to restaurant standards
  • Must have clear communication skills with both kitchen staff and servers to coordinate orders and ensure timely service
  • Help maintain a smooth workflow in the kitchen and ensure the dining room runs efficiently
  • Excellent leadership and organization skills with a team mentality and an ability to interact with guests as well as cooperate with team members
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to look for ways to improve workflows and reduce bottlenecks, ensuring that operations run as smoothly as possible
  • Ability to lift approximately 40lbs, be on his/her feet for several hours and work in a fast-paced environment
