Job Description
Torchy's Tacos began in Austin, Texas in 2006, originating from a simple idea, a passionate executive chef, and a humble food trailer. Since then, the restaurant has blossomed into a beloved brand with numerous nationwide locations, known for serving high-quality, uniquely crafted tacos and a vibrant dining experience. As a company rooted in creativity, bold flavors, and community, Torchy's Tacos prides itself on maintaining an atmosphere where both guests and team members feel valued and energized.
Torchy's Tacos is seeking a Food Expeditor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every food order leaving the kitchen meets the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and timeliness. As a critical link between the kitchen staff and service runners, the Food Expeditor guarantees a smooth workflow, which ultimately ensures guests receive the best-tasting tacos in a timely manner. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a keen understanding of food safety and quality measures. Employment for this role is hourly, with pay ranging between $10 and $12 per hour based on experience, plus pooled tips that boost overall income.
The Food Expeditor’s responsibilities include monitoring order tickets, verifying accuracy and modifications, managing ticket flow times, and coordinating with managers on allergy or specialized orders to safeguard guest satisfaction. Additional duties involve ensuring precise portioning and preparation of salsas and food items according to prep sheets, as well as maintaining proper labeling and storage. Setting up and breaking down stations efficiently, keeping kitchen equipment clean and organized, and preparing chips and dips with strict adherence to order priorities are also essential functions of this role.
At Torchy's Tacos, we foster a positive and engaging working atmosphere that values collaboration and fun. We support our team members through comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth. Our flexible scheduling accommodates various lifestyles, and full-time team members become eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year and 401(k) benefits after six months. Furthermore, we offer a generous paid time off program after one year, discounts on our renowned food, and access to the Torchy’s Family Foundation for support during times of need.
This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, detail-oriented environments and enjoy contributing to a team that is passionate about delivering exceptional food and guest experiences. If you are committed to quality, enjoy multitasking in a lively setting, and want to be part of a growing restaurant family, the Food Expeditor position at Torchy's Tacos is an excellent fit.
