Known for its innovative approach, Octagon specializes in creating unparalleled fan experiences and brand activations through the power of play. The company prides itself on being one of the "Best Places to Work in Sports," where creativity, collaboration, and passion for sports and culture converge to deliver outstanding marketing solutions. With the headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, Octagon maintains additional office locations including Cary, North Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina, offering a flexible work environment for their employees including hybrid work options with a priority for candidates open to working three days a week in office. The Experiential Director role at Octagon is pivotal in translating innovative ideas into dynamic, memorable experiences for both brands and consumers. The position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in event production and experiential marketing, particularly focused on B2B events such as annual industry conferences, trade shows, business conventions, sports, entertainment, and lifestyle cultural events. Serving as the lead producer and 'general contractor' for event production, the Experiential Director is tasked with orchestrating multiple channels of communication, technical execution, and vendor management to deliver top-tier events that meet and exceed client expectations.

This role involves comprehensive responsibilities from concept development in collaboration with creative and account teams to hands-on oversight of production, fabrications, audiovisual components, and physical event elements such as furniture, signage, and staging. The Experiential Director manages client relationships from briefing through to post-event analysis, ensuring every detail aligns with strategic objectives and budgetary guidelines. They are instrumental in standardizing operations within Octagon’s Events Team, enhancing efficiency and quality across diverse event productions, including a portfolio of professional golf events.

Success in this position demands a blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and logistical expertise. The ideal candidate is adept in navigating high-pressure environments, prioritizing competing project demands, and fostering strong vendor and team relationships. Proficiency in project budgeting, forecasting, and cost management is crucial for maintaining client satisfaction and operational excellence.

The role includes a moderate amount of domestic travel, approximately one to two times a month, often requiring work during nights and weekends to ensure flawless event execution. It offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Octagon values diversity and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities irrespective of race, gender, religion, or other protected statuses. The Experiential Director position offers a rewarding career path for individuals eager to lead complex projects, innovate within the event production space, and contribute to one of the most dynamic teams in the sports and entertainment marketing industry.
