Job Description
Cura is a renowned provider of exceptional dining experiences, specializing in meal services for hospitals, senior living centers, and long-term care facilities. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of residents by delivering compassionate service and high-quality meals tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. As a part of Elior North America, we embrace diversity and inclusion and are proud to foster a supportive and dynamic work environment where every employee can thrive and grow. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the standards we set for our culinary teams across all healthcare and senior living settings, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, delicious, and safe meals daily.
We are excited to welcome a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dedicated healthcare kitchen team at White Horse Village in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. This hands-on leadership role is critical in overseeing essential aspects of food production, including purchasing, meal preparation, service, and sanitation. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest quality dining experience for our residents, working closely with kitchen staff to uphold food safety and quality standards while creatively enhancing our dining services. This position requires a blend of culinary expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a collaborative team within a healthcare setting.
In this role, you will be responsible for training and onboarding new kitchen staff, cultivating a positive and efficient work environment where teamwork and professionalism are encouraged. You will develop and maintain standardized recipes that meet food quality and cost objectives, ensuring consistency and satisfaction with every meal served. Additionally, you will plan and execute special events with creativity and expert culinary skills, contributing to the unique dining experiences that Cura is known for.
This is an excellent opportunity for those with a minimum of three years of progressive culinary management experience, preferably in a long-term care setting. Proficiency in managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines and exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills are essential to succeed in this fast-paced role. The Sous Chef will also utilize Microsoft Office Suite for operational management and documentation. Preferred candidates will hold an associate degree in culinary arts, which adds to their ability to contribute effectively in this role.
At Cura, you will join a welcoming team dedicated to nurturing not only the health and happiness of our residents but also the growth and development of our employees. We value diversity and encourage applicants from various backgrounds to join our thriving culinary community. As part of our team, you will benefit from comprehensive medical coverage, dental and vision insurance, voluntary accident plans, employee assistance programs, a 401k retirement plan, paid time off, sick days, and tuition reimbursement for full-time employees. Cura offers a fulfilling career within a company dedicated to quality, compassion, and excellence in the healthcare dining industry.
