This position is for an Experienced Software Engineer on the Flight Simulation Labs team in Daytona Beach, Florida, a recent addition to Boeing's facilities focused on engineering excellence and innovation. The role centers on supporting the F18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler Modeling & Simulation teams under Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). The Software Engineer will be responsible for automation and tooling related to installation and configuration of both Windows and Linux software components. This includes establishing, maintaining, and enhancing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines within an Agile software development environment. A key part of the role involves embedding automated security and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure adherence to the highest standards throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Additionally, the engineer will manage the artifact repository environment, automate build, deployment, and environment provisioning tasks, and develop comprehensive documentation covering system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting protocols. The role demands the generation of detailed reports on system performance, security, and compliance to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The Software Engineer will actively participate in planning and implementing new systems, system upgrades, and migrations, aligning with best practices and ensuring compatibility across the teams served. They will provide critical support and guidance to software developers incorporating DevSecOps tools and workflows, fostering a culture of security and efficiency in software development practices.

This position requires a candidate who can work 100% onsite at the Daytona Beach facility, ensuring close collaboration and effective communication with team members and stakeholders.

Boeing offers a competitive salary range between $88,000 and $155,000, based on experience and qualifications, complemented by a comprehensive Total Rewards package. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), deploying to cloud environments
  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or ARM templates
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Node.js
  • experience with cloud containerization
  • active U.S. Secret Security Clearance preferred
  • experience developing in C++
  • experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Jenkins, GitLab
  • experience with Kubernetes (e.g., Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • experience working with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other Agile methodologies
  • experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Windows and Linux servers, workstations, and related infrastructure using automation tooling
  • knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  • knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services
