The Line Cook at WOB Bar & Kitchen is an essential part of the kitchen team responsible for ensuring the preparation and execution of food items to the highest standards. This role requires an individual who is experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate about cooking. The Line Cook will follow WOB's recipes, portioning requirements, and cooking standards to deliver consistent and high-quality dishes. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen is equally important, as the position demands strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills, a sense of urgency, and a positive attitude, all while thriving in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Job Requirements

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, push and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
  • Ability to retain menu recipe knowledge
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to withstand frequent exposure to high and low temperatures, smoke, and steam
  • Frequent contact with sanitary latex gloves, sanitation solutions, and all food products including meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, dairy and produce items
  • Ability to learn and understand how to prepare all food items on the menu to WOB specifications, appearance and standards in a timely manner

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Food handler certification within 30 days of hire or as required by state law, complying with all local requirements

Job Duties

  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the WOB recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
  • Follow the prep list created by Kitchen management
  • Label and stock all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Ensure all food and station items are stored properly
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work efficiently and as part of a team to ensure timely preparation of dishes
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the kitchen area
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front of house staff
