Randall's Restaurant is currently seeking an experienced Fine Dining Server to join the front-of-house team in a part-time capacity. This role is pivotal in maintaining the restaurant's high standards of service and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of fine dining protocols, including deep knowledge of both the food and bar menus, and the skill to provide recommendations confidently and courteously.

The Fine Dining Server will be responsible for accurately taking and entering food and beverage orders, delivering a positive and friendly demeanor throughout interactions with guests, and ensuring that all diners enjoy their visit. This includes proactive engagement with customers, troubleshooting any issues that arise promptly and effectively, handling payments with accuracy, and preparing detailed checks that itemize meals and applicable taxes. Additionally, the role supports the kitchen and food preparation staff when necessary to ensure seamless service flow.

The position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with reporting times by 3:00 pm. Randall's operates regularly from Tuesday through Saturday evenings, and private events may occasionally require work outside normal business hours. Because of the dynamic nature of fine dining service, candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods and capable of carrying heavy trays of food. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, alongside a calm and positive attitude even in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.

Job Requirements

  • Fine dining experience, providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of all food and bar menus
  • Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
  • Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to stand for 5+ hours and carry heavy trays of food

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fine dining service
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and all staff
  • Previous food service work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience in handling payment transactions and POS systems

Job Duties

  • Complete knowledge of our food and bar menus with the expertise to make suggestions
  • Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive and friendly demeanor
  • Engage with customers in a friendly manner
  • Enter orders accurately into POS terminals for transmittal to kitchen staff
  • Ensure tables are enjoying their visit and troubleshoot as needed
  • Collect payments from tables
  • Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes
  • Help food preparation staff when necessary
