The company is known for empowering its customers, employees, and communities, fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and professional growth. Core-Mark operates numerous distribution centers and offers a wide range of products, programs, and solutions to support the convenience retail industry effectively.
The Driver, Hourly CDL-A position at Core-Mark is integral to the company’s mission of maintaining a reliable and efficient food distribution system. In addition to transportation duties, drivers interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, providing excellent service and accurate communication. The position promotes teamwork within the department and the organization, contributing directly to Core-Mark’s operational success.
This role comes with competitive pay, with potential earnings up to $90,000 per year, and an attractive $2,000 bonus incentive for drivers with at least one year of tractor-trailer experience. The bonus is structured as $500 after 30 days, $500 after 90 days, and $1,000 after 180 days. Core-Mark supports work-life balance by offering a four-day workweek with no weekend shifts, enhancing job satisfaction. Employees benefit from day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more, emphasizing Core-Mark’s commitment to employee well-being.
The primary responsibilities of the Driver, Hourly CDL-A, include performing all required pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on tractors, trucks, and trailers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company standards. The driver must identify and report safety issues promptly and ensure freight is properly loaded, secured, and accounted for by performing count checks and verifying customer invoices. Drivers transport and deliver customer orders efficiently, unload products, scan deliveries, collect payments when needed, and complete accurate paperwork. They also manage returns, unload damaged goods, maintain cleanliness within tractors and loading docks, and keep records of hours of service in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Overall, Core-Mark’s CDL-A Drivers play a vital role in sustaining the company’s reputation for excellent service and safety. The position offers substantial growth opportunities within a respected organization dedicated to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Core-Mark provides a safe and inclusive work environment with a culture that rewards, recognizes, and respects its employees. This role is suited for responsible, hardworking individuals who value safety, customer service, and teamwork, and who want to contribute to a fundamental sector of America's food distribution system.
