Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum 12 months commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- minimum age of 21 years
- compliance with state licensing and/or certification requirements
- clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for the last 3 years
- successful completion of post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- passing road test
- valid or ability to obtain DOT health card
- physical ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 12+ months commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- must be 21+ years of age
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- attains or has valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- able to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight
Job Duties
- Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
- function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company
- perform all required safety checks including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- report all safety issues and/or repairs required promptly
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices of loaded products
- complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- collect payments when required
- load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured at all times
- unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
- perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area
- complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- secure all equipment and complete paperwork at the end of the shift
- perform other related duties as assigned
