Performance Foodservice is a leading broadline distributor within the Performance Food Group (PFG) family, specializing in supplying an extensive range of food products and related services to an array of local customers. These customers include independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company is renowned for its strong emphasis on building close and lasting relationships with clients by providing valuable advice on various facets of operations such as menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. This consultative approach allows Performance Foodservice to go beyond merely delivering quality food products; the team actively supports independent restaurant owners and businesses in achieving their dreams and optimizing their operational success. With a dedicated team that includes sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry experts, Performance Foodservice fosters a collaborative and passionate environment focused on customer satisfaction and excellence.
The CDL-A Driver role at Performance Foodservice is a critical position supporting the nation’s food distribution system by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products. This role comes with an annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, supported by a performance incentive plan that can yield up to $2,800 annually, contingent upon quarterly performance targets. The employment schedule involves a 4 to 5 day workweek with mandatory availability from Monday through Saturday. New hires undergo two weeks of comprehensive training in Temple, Texas, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the company’s safety and service standards.
As a CDL-A Driver, you will be entrusted with driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. This role requires strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety protocols, and company policies. Beyond transportation duties, the driver acts as the face of Performance Foodservice, fostering professional interactions with customers, vendors, and coworkers to build and maintain strong client relationships. The driver’s responsibilities include performing thorough safety inspections, securing loads, handling freight accurately, maintaining meticulous delivery paperwork, and ensuring the integrity of products delivered. The position also involves adopting a team-oriented attitude to support the broader organizational goals and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace culture characterized by rewards, recognition, and respect.
Performance Foodservice offers an attractive benefits package that includes day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, employer-matched 401(k) retirement savings, education assistance, and generous paid time off. Additionally, the organization provides substantial sign-on bonuses under specific conditions and promotes growth opportunities within a stable and essential industry. Its commitment to safety, inclusivity, and employee development makes it a desirable employer for individuals seeking a career in logistics and food services delivery. The CDL-A driving position is an excellent opportunity for skilled drivers who are dedicated, safety-conscious, and customer-focused to join a dynamic company that values and invests in its workforce.
