Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum 12 months commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- 21 years of age or older
- meet state licensing and certification requirements
- clean motor vehicle report for last 3 years
- pass drug and background checks
- pass road test
- valid or obtainable DOT health card
- able to hand-lift and use equipment for freight handling
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 12 or more months of commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-A license
- minimum age of 21 years
- meet all state licensing or certification requirements
- clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- hold or able to obtain valid DOT health card
- able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases
- preferred experience in foodservice distribution industry of one year or more
- experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems
- experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems
- customer service work experience
Job Duties
- Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
- functions as a team member within the department and organization as required
- performs all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections according to Department of Transportation regulations
- inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and reports safety issues
- follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
- inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- performs count check of items and verifies customer invoices
- completes accurate paperwork associated with freight
- moves tractor to loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- delivers customer orders according to predetermined route
- unloads products and transports items into customer storage areas
- performs damage control checks and contacts supervisor about removing orders
- verifies delivery and obtains signatures
- collects payment where required
- loads customer returns and secures trailer doors
- ensures tractor, trailer and freight are locked and secured
- unloads damaged goods and completes paperwork
- performs housekeeping duties and secures equipment at end of shift
- completes daily records of hours of service
- performs other related duties as assigned
