Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a training program or apprenticeship required
- Previous meat cutting experience required
- Ability to stand and move on hard surfaces for extended periods
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and heavier items with assistance
- Willingness to work in cooler environments with exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Commitment to regular, predictable attendance
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards strictly
Job Qualifications
- Completion of a training program or apprenticeship
- Previous meat cutting experience
- Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines preferred
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to read and understand production or financial performance reports for the department
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to maintain a friendly and positive attitude
Job Duties
- Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats including grinds
- Assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli
- Help in the rotisserie chicken area and full service deli
- Cut special meat arrangements for members
- Maintain all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department
- Engage and assist members by making recommendations and answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood
- Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members
- Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts to company packaging standards
- Ensure meat cases showcase all products and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates
- Dispose of damaged or expired products following guidelines
- Clean and sanitize all equipment and display fixtures
- Inspect and store meat upon delivery
- Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses
- Maintain all club policies and procedures
- Perform other duties including placing orders and working in other departments as needed
- Maintain regular, predictable full attendance
- Ensure a safe and positive environment for members and team
- Work collaboratively to achieve goals and meet GOLD member standards
