As an independent member of Baker Tilly International, a worldwide network of accounting and business advisory firms, Baker Tilly employs over 43,000 professionals globally with a collective revenue of $5.2 billion. This extensive reach combined with local expertise enables Baker Tilly to deliver tailored professional services including tax, advisory, and assurance that meet the highest industry standards in accordance with the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and relevant laws and regulations.
Baker Tilly is currently seeking an experienced Sales/Use Tax Associate to join their expanding State & Local Tax (SALT) practice based in Texas. This role is ideal for professionals who want to engage directly with firm leadership while supporting both middle-market and Fortune 500 clients. The SALT practice provides a comprehensive suite of tax services including income & franchise tax, sales & use tax, real & personal property tax, unclaimed property, and voluntary disclosure and remediation tailored to industry-specific needs.
As a Sales and Use Tax Associate at Baker Tilly, you will be tasked with identifying sales and use tax savings opportunities for multi-state clients, managing daily operations, and working closely with both clients and taxing authorities. The position involves preparing and filing tax returns, conducting detailed research on tax laws, analyzing significant client data, and maintaining compliance with state regulations. This role offers a collaborative atmosphere where internal teamwork and cross-service line engagements are encouraged along with continuous learning and professional development.
The firm values entrepreneurial spirit and supports its employees in building strong relationships internally and externally, fostering not only professional growth but also a healthy work-life balance through social activities and team outings. Compensation for this position is competitive based on experience and geography, with salary ranges from $73,730 to $101,390 depending on location within Texas. This position does not currently offer immigration sponsorship.
