The Leasing Consultant reports directly to the property manager and is vital in maintaining strong resident relationships and community standards.

As a Leasing Consultant, the candidate will engage with prospective residents, offering tours and evaluating their housing needs and preferences to close leasing deals effectively. Responsibilities include assisting new residents with all leasing paperwork, managing security deposits and rent collections, and clearly communicating lease and community policies. This role requires creativity in marketing to attract new residents and managing the lease renewal process to boost resident retention. The Leasing Consultant also ensures apartments are move-in ready, responding promptly to inquiries via calls and emails, and diligently following up with leads who have yet to lease. The position may require weekend work as part of an ongoing commitment to customer service.

Successful candidates often have a background in real estate, retail, sales, leasing, hospitality, or customer service and possess excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms, is essential. Experience with leasing software such as Yardi, Blue Moon, Entrata, Onesite, or MRI is considered a plus. Job Duties

  • Greet prospective residents and give tours while determining housing needs, preferences, and closing leads
  • Assist new residents with leasing paperwork, including applications, lease agreements, and employment/credit checks
  • Collect security deposits, rent, and any other charges associated with resident move-ins
  • Communicate all lease and community policies to new and current residents
  • Follow up with all leads and prospects that did not lease
  • Ensure apartments are move-in ready by inspecting and adding last-minute touches when appropriate
  • Seek out new residents with creative marketing techniques
  • Manage the lease renewal process and retention efforts
  • Respond promptly to calls, emails, and inquiries
