Job Description

At Ulta Beauty (NASDAQ: ULTA), the possibilities are truly beautiful. Ulta Beauty stands as the largest North American beauty retailer and the premier destination for cosmetics, fragrance, skin care products, hair care products, and salon services. Founded on the belief that beauty is powerful, Ulta Beauty brings the joy of discovery and uncommon artistry to beauty enthusiasts across the country. With a portfolio that spans more than 25,000 products from around 500 well-established and emerging beauty brands, as well as Ulta Beauty's own private label, the company offers an unparalleled range of options for every preference and price point.

Ulta Beauty is more than just a retailer. It is a vibrant community and marketplace where beauty lovers can indulge their passion, explore new trends, and embrace self-expression. Each store features a full-service salon providing expert hair, skin, brow, and makeup services delivered by highly skilled professionals. These salon services perfectly complement the retail experience, enabling guests to feel confident and radiant from head to toe. Ulta Beauty is committed to creating a place of energy, passion, and excitement, where every associate and guest participates in a culture of innovation and excellence.

The Experience Manager (EM) role at Ulta Beauty is pivotal to achieving the company’s mission of delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving business success across all facets of the store. The Experience Manager is responsible for leading a diverse and dynamic team including stylists, estheticians, guest coordinators, assistant services managers (in select locations), sales managers, and boutique leads. This leadership position is charged with overall accountability for retail sales, service sales, guest satisfaction, and all operational aspects of the store’s salon and boutique business.

Focused on performance, people, and process, the Experience Manager promotes a culture of accountability to meet and exceed sales goals related to services, boutiques, makeup, and retail products while maintaining tight control over expenses and payroll. They leverage forecasting and budgeting tools to optimize store scheduling and support their general manager in productivity efforts. The EM proactively addresses underperforming metrics by developing strategic improvement plans using company programs and resources.

The role requires a passion for the beauty industry and a commitment to elevated guest service. The Experience Manager actively participates in makeup applications, skincare consultations, and product demonstrations to engage guests and drive sales. Staying current on industry trends and product innovations is critical to maintaining expert knowledge and providing exceptional service.

Beyond business performance, the Experience Manager builds and nurtures a highly engaged, diverse team that embodies Ulta Beauty’s brand values. Through hiring, coaching, training, and development initiatives, the EM fosters an inclusive workplace environment that inspires collaboration, growth, and professional excellence. They ensure that all team members participate in ongoing brand and category education to continually enhance skills and sales capabilities.

On the operational side, the EM enforces company policies, safety, inventory control, and loss prevention standards while utilizing scheduling and task management technologies to prioritize daily store activities. They champion continuous improvement initiatives, effectively communicate business insights to leadership, and model a culture of teamwork and accountability.

Ulta Beauty offers this full-time Experience Manager role with a competitive hourly wage of $33.00 to $40.00 plus eligibility for bonuses based on performance and other factors. Benefits include paid time off, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage. The company prioritizes inclusion and equal opportunity, encouraging applicants from diverse backgrounds and respecting all applicable fair chance hiring laws.

This role demands flexibility in scheduling to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with the ability to move continuously through the store during shifts.
