Job Description
Imagine Children’s Museum is a vibrant, interactive museum dedicated to fostering learning and play for children and families. Located in Everett, the museum offers unique hands-on exhibits and engaging programs that encourage creativity, curiosity, and discovery. The museum's mission centers on providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where children of all backgrounds can explore, imagine, and grow. Imagine Children’s Museum is committed to community involvement and enriching the lives of children through playful learning experiences. This establishment prides itself on creating joyful memories and providing educational opportunities for young visitors alongside their families.
We are currently seeking friendly, energetic individuals to join our team as Experience Hosts. This part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week, is onsite in Everett and offers a competitive pay rate of $20 an hour. The position is ideal for those who love interacting with people, especially children, and enjoy creating a positive and engaging atmosphere. As an Experience Host, you will play a crucial role in welcoming visitors, helping children and their families feel comfortable and excited to explore the museum, and encouraging learning through play. This role is an active, hands-on position involving standing, walking, and engaging directly with guests throughout the museum’s exhibit spaces.
Experience Hosts are the face of the museum, responsible for greeting guests, answering basic questions, and fostering a friendly environment. They help maintain clean, organized exhibits ready for exploration and support special events like evening programs. This position does not require extensive prior experience; instead, it values a positive attitude, kindness, and a willingness to learn and contribute. The role demands excellent verbal communication skills, the ability to remain calm and helpful during busy times, and a passion for working with children and families. Teamwork and flexibility are essential, as Experience Hosts often jump in wherever needed to ensure every guest has a memorable visit.
This role also requires basic physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable working in a lively, interactive, and playful environment that features moderate noise levels and requires physical activity such as climbing stairs or reaching overhead. The museum supports employees with training, including basic First Aid, to ensure a safe and welcoming experience for all visitors.
Imagine Children’s Museum values its staff by fostering a supportive workplace culture where having fun at work and making a difference in the community come first. Besides competitive pay, part-time employees enjoy benefits such as a service appreciation day, free museum membership, discounts, and other museum perks. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a positive, community-focused team that makes a meaningful impact on children's lives and offers an enjoyable and dynamic work environment.
