Job Description

The Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) is a pivotal organization dedicated to promoting the city of Little Rock as a premier destination for tourism, business, and cultural events. With a focus on enhancing visitor experiences, the LRCVB operates an Experience Center—a dynamic hub designed to showcase what Little Rock has to offer. The Experience Center plays a crucial role in connecting visitors with the city's attractions, providing information, and ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable and seamless visit.

The LRCVB is currently seeking a dedicated On-Site Operations Supervisor for their Experience Center. This role is integral to the daily functioning and success of the Experience Center, requiring an individual with strong leadership skills, operational oversight capabilities, and a customer-centric approach. The supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily operations during public hours, ensuring that all aspects run smoothly and that visitors receive a high-quality experience every time they visit.

This position involves direct support and supervision of the Experience Center staff, including oversight of staffing needs, scheduling, and day-to-day coordination. The supervisor must maintain consistent team performance, particularly during peak visiting hours, weekends, and special events, where visitor volume and activity levels increase significantly. A professional demeanor and a welcoming attitude are essential to foster a customer-focused environment that aligns with the LRCVB's mission to provide exceptional service.

Importantly, this role is designated as a Safety-Sensitive Job under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, highlighting the critical nature of maintaining safety standards and compliance. While not considered essential personnel under the LRCVB inclement weather policy, the operations supervisor’s role remains vital in ensuring the center’s operations uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

The successful candidate will engage closely with visitors, staff, and management, facilitating communication and operational strategies to create a positive environment. The supervisor will also handle any issues that arise during public hours, implement solutions promptly, and ensure that team members are aligned with the center’s goals and procedures. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in customer service, operational management, and team leadership within public-facing environments.

Applications for this position are accepted online only, and applicants are encouraged to provide a complete work history. The LRCVB uses a thorough electronic screening process that considers responses to supplemental questions alongside qualifications to identify candidates who meet minimum requirements. Those qualified may remain on consideration lists for up to six months for future openings. Communication about application status is sent via text message or email, with options available for applicants to check status through their Careers/Little Rock account or by contacting Human Resources.

Overall, this On-Site Operations Supervisor role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the visitor experience in Little Rock while developing leadership skills in a vibrant cultural and tourism setting. The position demands a proactive, organized, and approachable professional passionate about ensuring quality service and smooth operational flow in a public service environment.
