Job Description
AKEDO Washington, DC is an exciting new venture from globally renowned restaurateur and venture capitalist Arjun Waney, known for his involvement with acclaimed dining establishments such as ZUMA, ROKA, COYA, La Petite Maison (LPM), and The Arts Club. This latest concept is developed in partnership with the team behind Washington’s award-winning SHOTO Washington DC, bringing together notable expertise in the hospitality industry to offer a fresh and innovative dining experience in the heart of the nation’s capital. AKEDO is positioned as a chef-driven, Japanese-inspired street food restaurant that redefines fast-casual dining with an emphasis on authentic flavors, high-quality ingredients, and a vibrant atmosphere.
Located in Midtown Center at 1100 15th Street NW Washington, DC 20005, with easy entrance through the Midtown Center courtyard via L Street NW between 15th and 16th Streets, AKEDO offers its guests a unique culinary journey showcasing a diverse menu of Japanese street foods. The restaurant features a variety of enticing dishes such as sandos (Japanese sandwiches), sushi, bento boxes, poke, Japanese-style pizza, robata skewers grilled over an open flame, and soft-serve ice cream. Complementing the food offerings, AKEDO also serves a curated selection of Japanese beverages including beer, sake, and shochu, creating an authentic cultural vibe.
Designed by the celebrated interior designer Noriyoshi Muramatsu of Studio Glitt in Tokyo, the 60-seat boutique fast-casual concept is thoughtfully styled to blend modern aesthetics with traditional Japanese influences. Central to the design is an open kitchen concept featuring a robata grill and pizza oven that allow guests to witness the culinary craft firsthand. The establishment also boasts an inviting outdoor terrace, enhancing the dining experience with a comfortable and stylish ambiance.
Operating seven days a week, AKEDO offers lunch and dinner service along with late-night hours extending until 4:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, catering to a wide range of customers from casual diners to night owls. The restaurant prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high service standards and fostering a dynamic, motivated team environment.
AKEDO is currently seeking motivated hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and eager to grow within a dynamic team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings and who are looking for a career in the hospitality industry with potential for growth and development. Employees can expect competitive hourly pay based on experience, additional earnings through service charge participation, flexible scheduling, commuter benefits, employee dining privileges, and structured training designed to support professional advancement.
As an equal opportunity employer, AKEDO Washington, DC requires that all applicants be authorized to work in the United States. The establishment values dependability, teamwork, and a guest-focused approach, seeking individuals who embody these qualities and who are ready to contribute to the restaurant’s ongoing success and vibrant culture.
