The role of an Expo (Expediter) at Kennedy Concepts is pivotal to the seamless operation of their busy restaurants. As the vital bridge between the kitchen and the dining room, the Expo is responsible for coordinating the final stages of food preparation and delivery. This position requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication, as the Expo ensures that every dish is prepared, plated, and presented to the guests in a timely and accurate fashion that meets the restaurant's high standards. The Expo manages the flow of orders, checks for ingredient accuracy, special requests, and dietary restrictions, and collaborates closely with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain a smooth service flow. This role also involves keeping the expo station clean and organized, monitoring supply levels, and occasionally assisting with food delivery during peak times. The ability to think quickly under pressure, address and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies or quality, and work harmoniously as part of a team is essential for success in this position. The position typically requires standing for extended periods and the physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds safely.

Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant environment, especially in an expediting or food runner role, is preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly relay information between kitchen staff, servers, and guests
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in orders, food presentation, and guest requests
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and keep the work area organized and efficient
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
Job Duties
- Communicate effectively between kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure that orders are completed accurately and promptly
- Ensure that all dishes are properly plated and meet the restaurant’s standards for presentation and quality
- Check orders before they are sent to ensure accuracy in ingredients, special requests, and dietary restrictions
- Oversee the timing of food orders to ensure that all items are delivered to the dining room in a timely manner, ensuring no delays or incorrect orders
- Keep the expo station clean and organized, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in proper working condition
- Communicate with servers regarding order status, timing, and any special requests or concerns from guests
- Occasionally assist in delivering food to guests, especially during busy periods or when necessary
