We are currently seeking an experienced Exhibit Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The Exhibit Project Manager at MIG acts as the central driver of exposition projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial client engagement and proposal development to on-site execution and post-show close-out. This role requires a seasoned production professional capable of managing multiple concurrent projects with precision and efficiency, both from the office and on-site at event locations.

The Exhibit Project Manager will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships, while ensuring seamless communication between clients, creative teams, and on-site crews. This pivotal position demands expertise in coordinating with various departments, including strategy, design, logistics, and delivery teams to guarantee cohesive and successful project outcomes. The role also involves detailed proposal development, including pricing strategies, scope of work creation, and timeline alignment, along with the evaluation of project feasibility before proposal submission.

Further responsibilities include generating and revising CAD floor plans using Vectorworks or similar software, ensuring technical accuracy in all aspects such as rigging, power distribution, internet/data connectivity, ADA compliance, fire marshal regulations, and other venue or show management requirements. The Exhibit Project Manager is also tasked with overseeing shipping logistics, labor scheduling, and the management of labor crews during installation and dismantling phases. A strong focus on quality control, documentation, and post-show reporting is essential, alongside conducting site visits for production feasibility assessments at contracted or prospective venues.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of live event production and exhibit fabrication, demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to make effective decisions on-site. This role requires excellent client-facing skills and the ability to serve as the communication hub among clients, vendors, and internal teams throughout the event production process. MIG values professionals who are organized, proactive, and adept at navigating exhibitor service portals and show contractor kits such as Freeman, GES, and Shepard. Frequent domestic and international travel is required to support the projects, along with a willingness to work non-traditional hours as event schedules dictate. Job Requirements

  • 3-7 plus years of project management experience in trade show exhibit fabrication or live event production
  • expert-level proficiency in Excel budgets formulas linked templates
  • proficiency in CAD software such as Vectorworks or AutoCAD
  • strong technical knowledge of AV systems power distribution rigging and show flow planning
  • proven leadership skills with experience directing union and non-union I and D labor crews
  • excellent communication and client-facing abilities
  • experience with GSC portals exhibitor service kits and EAC processes
  • ability to interpret technical drawings and instructions
  • willingness to travel domestically and internationally with flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • valid driver’s license
  • knowledge of site visit protocols at event venues
  • preferred certification in CEM or CMP and familiarity with Exhibit Force or similar project management platforms
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • knowledgeable in conducting site visits at contracted or potential venues
  • preferred CEM Certified Exposition Manager or CMP Certified Meeting Professional designation experience with Exhibit Force or similar PM platforms bachelor’s degree in Event Management Business or equivalent experience

Job Duties

  • manage multiple expo projects concurrently from planning through post-show close-out ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget
  • serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the full project lifecycle guiding clients through MIG products and services
  • collaborate with strategy design logistics and delivery teams to ensure cohesive project outcomes lead and participate in pre-production meetings and client reviews
  • lead proposal development including pricing strategy SOW creation and timeline alignment evaluate project feasibility prior to submission
  • create and manage detailed project budgets encompassing labor travel equipment fabrication freight and vendor costs prepare change orders and reconcile post-show expenses
  • generate and revise CAD floor plans and layouts Vectorworks or similar review all fabrication and construction drawings prior to production for accuracy against client specs and venue requirements
  • ensure technical accuracy and on-site readiness rigging power distribution internet data ADA compliance fire marshal regulations and all venue and show management requirements
  • oversee shipping freight tracking equipment logistics labor scheduling and install dismantle oversight manage exhibitor service orders through GSC portals and show contractor kits
  • source negotiate and manage vendors including AV providers rigging companies EACs and specialty contractors schedule and book local union and non-union I and D labor as needed
  • supervise on-site crews serve as the central communication hub between the client show management official contractors and MIG internal teams during event production
  • ensure quality control documentation and time tracking on-site conduct post-show damage inspections and close-out reporting
  • conduct site visits at contracted or prospective venues to assess production feasibility and logistical requirements
  • ascertain exhibitor requirements and manage all follow-up activities to ensure a successful event account for all technical expenses including crew travel per diem shipping and labor
  • maintain compliance with internal file management reporting standards and project management platform usage Exhibit Force or equivalent
