Job Description

The River Palm Terrace, located in Edgewater, New Jersey, is a distinguished dining establishment known for its exceptional ambiance and commitment to delivering top-quality culinary experiences. We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team and work alongside our Executive Chef to further enhance our culinary operations. This is a full-time position with an attractive salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 per year, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance. The Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in driving food quality and operational success. The successful candidate will be a culinary leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of food production and kitchen operations, developing innovative menu plans, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards.

The position demands strong leadership abilities, creativity in menu development, and exceptional organizational skills. The Sous Chef will be expected to work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food presentation, and overall kitchen efficiency. Job Requirements

  • Education a culinary degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a kitchen leadership position
  • Proven ability to develop and manage menus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a leadership role in the hospitality or food service industry
  • Strong knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen management principles
  • Excellent menu planning skills, with a focus on creativity and customer preferences
  • Ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team of kitchen staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment
