The Exercise Instruction function involves implementing and supervising tailored therapeutic exercise programs prescribed by clinicians. This requires close attention to patients' physical capabilities, ensuring they perform exercises with proper form and within safe exertion limits to maximize recovery and prevent injury.
On the Patient Care Coordination side, the specialist ensures effective communication between the front office and clinical staff, facilitating patient flow through treatment sessions and maintaining an organized and efficient facility atmosphere. Duties extend to assisting with treatment scheduling, equipment maintenance, and documenting patient progress and exercise modifications. Job Duties
- Communicate daily with clinicians regarding all patient exercise program progressions/modifications and performance tolerance
- Deliver personalized exercise programs based on patients' specific conditions, rehabilitation plans, and therapeutic goals, ensuring optimal form and appropriate levels of exertion
- Demonstrate, instruct, and correct patients on proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and safety procedures to ensure effectiveness and prevent injury
- Monitor and supervise patients during exercise sessions, providing guidance and feedback to ensure proper execution and adherence to the prescribed program
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patients' progress, including exercise parameters, modifications, and any observed changes or concerns
- Communicate regularly with supervising Physical Therapists to discuss patients' progress, program adjustments, and address any modifications needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercise techniques, home exercise programs, and strategies for maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle
