Job Description
SMX is a leading technology and domain expert company focused on enabling the mission success of its clients across critical national security and healthcare sectors. With a commitment to digital transformation, SMX harnesses cutting-edge technology and extensive industry knowledge to provide secure, forward-looking solutions that accelerate mission impact. The company values its people highly, reflected in its robust compensation packages, learning and development opportunities, and inclusive, equal opportunity employment practices supporting veterans and individuals with disabilities. SMX prides itself on a delivery model that combines technical expertise with practical insights to foster secure and scalable mission acceleration in a variety of complex operational environments.
The BLUEFOR Exercise Planner role at SMX supports the US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI) by providing subject matter expertise in space domain effects integration for Blue Forces in theater-level exercises. This position offers an opportunity to lead exercise planning phases from conceptual development through execution, including the development of Master Scenario Event Lists (MSEL) that embed SFI’s role as the Theater Joint Functional Space Component Command into the exercise frameworks. A key responsibility is serving on Exercise Control Groups (ECG) or white cell teams during exercises to ensure MSEL objectives are achieved, along with authoring After-Action Reports (AAR) to assess post-exercise performance and identify capability gaps in space-integrated command, control, and communications.
This role requires candidates to hold a Department of Defense security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, which mandates US citizenship. The successful candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple concurrent processes and data sets for multi-national exercise products, and demonstrate excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 is essential, and the role demands quick adaptability to new systems and evolving operational requirements. Experience coordinating with allied and partner nation commands is highly desirable, as is prior involvement in intra-agency or joint command environments and international exercise planning.
At SMX, the proposed salary range for the BLUEFOR Exercise Planner position is from $140,000 to $185,000 USD annually, reflecting factors such as geographic location, relevant work experience, and specific qualifications. The company offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, paid leave, and retirement plans as part of its commitment to investing in its workforce. Employment with SMX means joining a collaborative and innovative team dedicated to advancing security and mission capabilities through technology and expert insights. Applicants should be prepared for background investigations and education verifications as part of the hiring process. SMX does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role, restricting employment to those authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored authorization.
