Job Description

ANSER is a highly respected and well-established organization providing expert consulting and support services primarily to the U.S. Department of Defense and other government agencies. With decades of experience, ANSER applies advanced research and development knowledge to assist in operational planning, policy formulation, and program management across a broad spectrum of national security and defense missions. As a key player in supporting U.S. military readiness and strategic operations, ANSER offers cutting-edge solutions that enhance the effectiveness of defense strategies, planning, and execution across various theaters of operation.

The company is currently seeking an experienced Exercise Planner, either mid-level or senior, to assist MARFORPAC (Marine Forces Pacific) leadership with the planning, coordination, and execution of training and exercise events within the Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR) and other global regions. You will be supporting high-level exercises involving the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commands (CCMD), MARFORPAC Headquarters, and their subordinate components. This role involves comprehensive planning for major exercises such as Field Training Exercises (FTXs), Command Post Exercises (CPXs), Tabletop Exercises (TTXs), and Senior Leader Seminars (SLS) that serve to prepare tactical, operational, and strategic forces for future contingency operations.

In this role, you will plan exercise operations and manage logistics by analyzing the objectives and tasks relevant to each exercise, evaluating MARFORPAC unit capabilities, deployment and forward operating location requirements, and resource limitations. You will provide vital support through all phases of the Joint Event Life Cycle, working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure that plans meet mission goals effectively. Your participation in planning meetings, preparation of documentation, and direct support to observer/controller functions during exercises will be critical for capturing lessons learned and after action reports.

Moreover, you will manage exercise databases using Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) and other Department of Defense applications, and provide support for Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Defense Collaboration Planning and Execution System (DCAPES), and Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) as needed. This role is integral to sustaining continuous improvement in training programs and supporting Theater Security Cooperation activities across the Pacific theater. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in exercise planning at higher headquarters levels and familiarity with operational and logistical requirements related to military exercises and deployments.

This position requires a high degree of organization, analytical capability, and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively among diverse teams and ensure successful exercise execution. Candidates should hold a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and have substantial practical experience within the Asia-Pacific theater or similar operational environments. Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to function in complex operational settings will be advantageous as you contribute to the readiness and strategic capabilities of the U.S. Marine Corps and joint forces in critical regions worldwide.
