As a leader in the hotel and resort industry, Hyatt operates a collection of luxury and upscale properties across the world, offering guests a unique blend of comfort, style, and cultural richness. The company’s reputation is built on attentive and caring associates who go above and beyond to ensure memorable stays for every guest. With its status as a certified Great Place to Work and inclusion in the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list in the United States, Hyatt exemplifies a workplace culture that values inclusion, support, and opportunity, making it an attractive employer for passionate hospitality professionals.

The role of Executive Steward at Hyatt is a pivotal leadership position within the organization’s Back-of-House Food & Beverage and Culinary teams. This position entails overseeing the daily operations of the Stewarding Department, which plays a critical role in maintaining the sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of all food production and service areas. By ensuring these high standards are met, the Executive Steward supports both culinary excellence and enhances guest satisfaction, directly impacting the overall guest experience.

The Executive Steward leads and supervises the stewarding team, managing daily tasks while fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, coaching, and mentoring stewarding staff to ensure optimal performance and growth. Additionally, the Executive Steward oversees inventory control, ordering, and the proper maintenance of all kitchen equipment and supplies, with knowledge of systems like Birchstreet being advantageous.

Crucially, this role involves managing payroll and labor productivity to align with the hotel’s operational goals, working closely with Executive Chefs and Culinary leadership to ensure seamless back-of-house operations. Vigilance in enforcing health, safety, and brand standards is paramount to maintaining Hyatt’s reputation for quality and guest trust.

Hyatt’s commitment to employee well-being is reflected in a robust benefits package that includes healthcare, dental and vision coverage, career growth opportunities, referral bonuses, paid time off after a short period, financial assistance for tuition and wellness, and various employee discounts. The company also offers added conveniences such as free and discounted hotel room nights worldwide, free parking at its Austin location, and discounted bus passes, all designed to support employees both personally and professionally.

Candidates for this role are expected to bring proven leadership experience in stewarding or culinary operations with a strong background in sanitation and safety best practices. Excellent organizational and communication skills, a hands-on leadership approach, and a passion for team development are essential. Hyatt also values flexibility in scheduling and prefers candidates with bilingual abilities, particularly in English and Spanish. A valid Food Handler Certification is a mandatory requirement.

By joining Hyatt as an Executive Steward, professionals enter a dynamic environment that not only values their skills and leadership but also encourages growth and advancement within a globally respected hospitality brand.
