This job opportunity is for a Travel Culinary Supervisor position, predominantly involving regional travel within Michigan. The role is integral to supporting Executive Chefs and Directors across multiple locations while ensuring that all kitchen operations maintain the highest standards of safety and sanitation. A crucial element of this role is preparing or overseeing meal preparation in strict adherence to corporate culinary programs and guidelines, offering both operational support and quality control. The position demands experience in senior living or healthcare culinary environments, highlighting the importance of knowledge about specialized dietary needs and regulatory compliance within these sectors. As a Travel Culinary Supervisor, the successful candidate will coordinate the activities of kitchen personnel, manage cost controls, and help implement new culinary initiatives alongside marketing and culinary teams. Job Requirements

  • Senior living or healthcare experience required
  • Ability to travel regionally within Michigan
  • Must maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Experience supporting executive chefs and/or directors
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Must comply with all company policies and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in culinary arts or related field
  • A.O.S. degree in culinary arts with additional specialized training
  • 3-5 years of relevant culinary experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and oral/written communication skills
  • Knowledge of food cost and how it pertains to a kitchen, product and quality identification
  • Must be experienced with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e-mail and the internet
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful

Job Duties

  • Coordinates activities of kitchen personnel engaged in preparation of food service
  • Ensures that high quality food items are creatively prepared and presented in a cost effective manner
  • Assists in all phases of planning, ordering, inventory, and food preparation
  • Supports the management of cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams
  • Supervises co-workers to ensure the cleanliness, organization, and overall sanitation of the kitchen
  • Performs other duties as assigned
