We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team on board. The Executive Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service. This leadership role requires overseeing the daily kitchen operations to ensure the highest level of quality and presentation of all dishes served to our diverse and discerning guests. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to develop innovative and exciting menus that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary requirements.

In this role, you will manage food costs and inventory efficiently, ensuring the use of resources is optimized while minimizing waste. You will also be responsible for training, supervising, and motivating a team of chefs and kitchen staff to maintain excellent standards of food preparation and presentation. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment in accordance with all food safety and sanitation regulations will be paramount. This role also involves working closely with other department heads to create a seamless and exceptional guest experience onboard.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Extensive knowledge of international cuisine and food preparation techniques
  • Proven track record of managing food costs and inventory
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to changing schedules
  • Fluent in English with additional languages considered an asset
  • Degree or certification in culinary arts or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience working on a cruise ship is an asset but not required

  • Collaborate with the executive chef to create innovative and exciting menus that cater to a diverse range of guests
  • Manage food costs and inventory ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste
  • Train supervise and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment following all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work closely with other department heads to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience
