Job Description
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) is a global leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its diverse portfolio of well-established brands that cater to the discerning traveler. Among its distinguished properties is the InterContinental Indianapolis, a beacon of urban luxury and timeless elegance situated in the iconic Illinois Building on Monument Circle. This landmark building has been meticulously restored to feature 170 modern guestrooms and 17 luxurious suites, complemented by a sophisticated Lobby Lounge and a stunning Rooftop Bar offering breathtaking views of Monument Circle. The InterContinental brand is synonymous with exceptional service, cultural appreciation, and a commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests from around the world.
The Executive Sous Chef role at the InterContinental Indianapolis is a pivotal leadership position within the culinary team, reporting directly to the Executive Chef. This role demands a passionate and creative culinary professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is dedicated to delivering impeccable food quality and presentation. As the Executive Sous Chef, you will play a key role in directing daily kitchen operations, coaching and developing kitchen staff, and ensuring every meal served is both a feast for the eyes and a delight for the taste buds. Your leadership will contribute significantly to upholding the high standards and brand values that define the InterContinental experience.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $67,000 to $87,000, along with eligibility for bonus pay. It is a full-time role that requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of a bustling luxury hotel environment.
In this role, you will assist the Executive Chef with hiring, training, and performance management, helping to cultivate a team that embodies the IHG core values: doing the right thing, showing care, aiming higher, celebrating differences, and working better together. You will support event planning, manage kitchen staff and labor, oversee inventory and food safety, and coordinate closely with Sales, Catering, and Event Teams to ensure flawless banquet production and service. Your insights will be invaluable in menu development and recipe standardization, helping to maintain consistency and innovation in our culinary offerings.
IHG offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of its employees, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and generous room discounts. At IHG, we believe in creating an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated, and every colleague has the room to belong, grow, and make a difference.
Joining IHG means becoming part of a global family renowned for its commitment to hospitality excellence, cultural enrichment, and career development. If you have a degree or certificate in Culinary Arts, at least four years of culinary experience with a minimum of two in a supervisory role, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences, we encourage you to embark on your journey with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts. Together, we will continue to create inspiring experiences for guests who seek a richer perspective on the world.
