The Executive Sous Chef role at Hilton Alexandria Old Town is a dynamic leadership position designed for an experienced culinary professional passionate about elevating the hotel's food and beverage operations. The Executive Sous Chef will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and the Director of Food and Beverage to curate menus that resonate with current food trends and regional tastes, ensuring the culinary program remains fresh, innovative, and appealing to guests. As an Executive Sous Chef, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards for food quality, safety, sanitation, and cost control. Your responsibilities will extend to supervising kitchen staff, implementing standard operating procedures, and enhancing productivity and team performance. You will also play a vital role in guest interaction, regularly assessing satisfaction and making adjustments to improve the overall dining experience. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years experience in a similar culinary leadership role
- knowledge of health and safety regulations
- ability to work full availability including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- strong organizational and time management skills
- effective interpersonal and leadership abilities
- physical stamina to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- prior experience as an executive sous chef, banquet chef, or restaurant chef
- strong background in menu curation and developing standard operating procedures
- ability to lead and motivate a culinary team
- excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- strong leadership and communication skills
- creativity and passion for culinary arts
- ability to manage multiple culinary outlets and banquets
- customer service orientation with attention to detail
Job Duties
- assist the executive chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations including preparation and production of meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with safety and sanitation standards, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and profitability
- interact with guests and clients to monitor satisfaction trends, evaluate issues, and implement improvements
- assist in creating and implementing menu selections for special banquet themes and events
- ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
- monitor and develop team member performance through supervision, counseling, training, scheduling, and recognition
- oversee kitchen operations for three-meal restaurant, in-room dining, and banquets
- support the Executive Chef in maintaining high culinary standards and guest satisfaction
