Candidates must be prepared for the challenges presented by overlapping event timelines and understand that cross-country travel is a fundamental aspect of the role.

This position demands not only culinary expertise but also financial acumen to assist the Executive Chef in managing food cost controls and culinary budgets across multiple simultaneous events. The Executive Sous Chef must demonstrate the capability to produce consistent, high-quality food products in large volumes across several service times daily while strictly adhering to safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Further responsibilities include fostering a positive kitchen environment and maintaining high morale within the culinary team. This leadership role requires close collaboration with staffing and sales departments to ensure budget compliance and efficient production schedules. The Executive Sous Chef will also oversee the logistical planning and execution of event operations, manage satellite kitchens, lead hourly staff, and ensure food preparation and execution timelines are met with professionalism and precision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, communication via email, and familiarity with purchasing procedures are necessary.

This role involves roughly 60 percent office-based work, including computer usage, meetings, and event planning, and 40 percent event attendance requiring travel to various locations nationwide. The work environment includes outdoor settings and temporary structures, with physical demands such as standing, moving, lifting, and equipment handling. The company values candidates who exhibit business acumen, dedication, ethics and integrity, safety awareness, teamwork, strong communication, initiative within a fast-paced environment, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year, plus an 11 percent performance bonus. Full-time eligible employees have access to Basic Life and AD&D insurance and long-term disability coverage at no cost, with optional enrollment in a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and various voluntary coverages.
