Delaware North is currently seeking an Executive Sous Chef to join its team at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. This position offers an anticipated annual salary range of $88,200 to $111,200, with additional compensation opportunities through an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or an uncapped sales incentive plan. The Executive Sous Chef will play a critical leadership role by managing day-to-day kitchen operations across concessions, premium dining, and catering within the arena. They will ensure consistent execution of high-quality food preparation, adherence to recipe standards, and compliance with all health and safety regulations. This role demands strong culinary expertise, operational discipline, and excellent management skills to inspire and develop a dynamic kitchen team in a fast-paced setting.

In this position, the Executive Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to design menus and develop recipes that meet both guest expectations and operational goals. They will oversee budget management, monitor food and labor costs, and maintain efficient inventory and ordering procedures to optimize kitchen productivity and cost-effectiveness. Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment that adheres to state and local regulations is a key priority.

Beyond operational responsibilities, the Executive Sous Chef will be involved in mentoring team members, fostering a cohesive work environment, and driving continuous improvement in kitchen performance. The ideal candidate will bring prior management experience in high-volume food and beverage operations, preferably within sports or entertainment venues, and will have strong skills in cooking, food presentation, food safety, and team leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of culinary management experience in high-volume food and beverage operations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe and Food Safety Handler certifications
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of previous culinary management experience in a quality high-volume food and beverage operation, preferably in sports or entertainment venues
  • Exceptional skills in high-volume cooking, food presentation, and precise recipe adherence
  • Knowledge of best practices for monitoring food and labor cost, menu development, costing, ordering, inventory, and food safety and sanitation
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe, Food Safety Handler certifications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business levels

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef with daily supervision and production of all operations and events, ensuring adherence to recipe standards and high-quality food preparation
  • Hire, train, and mentor team members, creating a cohesive work environment
  • Oversee budget management, monitor food and labor costs, manage staffing levels, and ensure efficient inventory control, ordering, and receiving processes
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team in menu design and recipe development
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen that complies with state and local health department regulations and company policies
