Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience as executive sous chef or combination of sous and executive sous and/or banquet chef
  • hotel kitchen management experience highly desired
  • experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards highly desired
  • ability to speak, read, write and understand primary workplace language
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • basic computational ability
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • physical ability to work in extreme temperatures and stand for long periods
  • capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • ability to maintain manual dexterity
  • obtain and/or maintain required licenses or permits
  • willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as executive sous chef or related roles
  • hotel kitchen management experience highly desired
  • experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt standards preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • good working knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • ability to read, write and follow recipes
  • proficient in culinary techniques
  • experience managing food and labor budgets
  • team leadership and coaching skills
  • ability to coordinate events and banquet functions
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties
  • passion for hospitality and service

Job Duties

  • Plan and manage kitchen staff and operations
  • recommend menu and procedural changes
  • manage budget and control food and labor costs
  • ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
  • hire, train, develop and coach kitchen employees
  • monitor kitchen sanitation and maintenance
  • develop and implement menus and backup plans
  • coordinate banquet event orders and ensure customer satisfaction
  • prepare food according to recipes and company standards
  • inspect and select food items
  • maintain food storage and portion control
  • participate in inventory and hotel programs
  • engage in guest relations and address concerns
  • adhere to safety and security procedures
