The Executive Sous Chef position at Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa is a critical role within the culinary team, responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations at the resort’s prominent restaurants. This role requires a dynamic leader who can efficiently manage the kitchen staff, ensure that food preparation meets the highest standards of quality and presentation, and contribute actively to menu planning and development. The Executive Sous Chef will play a vital part in maintaining the resort’s reputation for excellent dining experiences by managing both people and processes.

The successful candidate will assist in organizing kitchen activities, supervising food preparation, and ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety regulations. The role demands strong leadership skills to train and develop the culinary team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages creativity and efficiency. The Executive Sous Chef coordinates ordering and inventory of food and kitchen supplies to maintain smooth operations without interruption.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Executive Sous Chef or similar role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen operations of the restaurant
  • Supervise the kitchen staff and ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards
  • Plan and develop menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the restaurant's quality standards
  • Train and develop kitchen staff to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order
  • Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept clean and organized
  • Assist in the ordering of food and supplies
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met
