Job Requirements
- Formal training through cooking school, professional culinary institute, or 2- or 4-year college degree program in hospitality or culinary arts
- Five years demonstrated experience as a working chef with emphasis on high volume food production
- Certified Working Chef or higher or ability for certification within six months of hire
- Current county health department food handler's card
- Current ServSafe certification

Job Duties
- Assist in menu planning and preparation for the OHSU Hospital Cafe
- Coordinate daily food preparation and presentation for the cafe
- Assist in planning and maintaining the published 4-week menu rotation
- Assist in planning, preparation, and coordination of high quality, nutritious patient meals
- Schedule staff and assign duties
- Reconcile and adjust time keeping for hourly paid employees
- Enforce Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point food safety and sanitation program
- Maintain cleaning and sanitation schedules
- Work with purchasing agent to ensure adequate supplies
- Create and modify recipes using Chef Tec and CYBORD
- Conduct visual inspections of food storage
- Attend weekly production meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
