Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in professional kitchen environments
  • Experience in a leadership role within culinary or stewarding operations
  • Ability to obtain necessary food safety certifications
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Support senior leadership by developing and assuming key management responsibilities
  • Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division including stewarding and all other hotel departments
  • Supervise the performance of the Sous Chefs and provide them counsel as to the preparation and cooking of various food items
  • Supervise the performance of the Stewarding Supervisors and provide them counsel as to the proper execution of the stewarding team's responsibilities
  • Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards
  • Ensure proper management of all stewarding inventory and storage
  • Plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions
  • Manage hourly kitchen and stewarding employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis ensuring financial performance and control
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen and stewarding facilities and equipment
  • Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, training and goals setting
