Job Description

The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, located in Omaha's vibrant Blackstone District, offers more than just accommodations - it offers a rich hospitality experience steeped in history and luxury. Formerly the historic Blackstone Hotel, this boutique hotel blends timeless elegance with contemporary style, creating a unique and stylish environment that honors its legacy while providing state-of-the-art amenities. Renowned for its stylish charm and exceptional service, The Kimpton Cottonwood is a local gem that continues to raise the bar in the hospitality industry, setting a new standard for guest experiences in Omaha. The hotel stands as a modern icon in a district where history is alive, offering guests a welcoming atmosphere infused with creativity and passion from a dedicated team that values collaboration and mutual support.

The role of Executive Restaurant Chef at The Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel is a prestigious and exciting culinary leadership position. This role demands a dynamic, creative chef who thrives in a fast-moving luxury environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences across the hotel’s diverse culinary concepts. The Executive Chef will oversee all culinary operations, including menu development, food quality standards, and team leadership for venues such as the upscale Committee Chophouse steakhouse, the vibrant Orleans Room serving breakfast through dinner, and the seasonal Pool Club Food Truck. This position offers the opportunity to shape the culinary vision for the property, bringing innovation and creativity to each dining outlet while maintaining the highest standards of excellence that guests expect.

The Executive Restaurant Chef will lead by example, fostering a culture of culinary excellence and teamwork while managing day-to-day kitchen operations and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety standards. This role also emphasizes financial acumen, requiring the chef to understand and meet financial goals related to food cost and labor. With over four years of kitchen management experience expected, the ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team, communicate effectively with guests and staff, and handle the physical demands of the position, including extended hours and lifting heavy items when necessary.

At The Kimpton Cottonwood, joining the culinary team means becoming part of a community that values passion, creativity, and guest-centered service. The hotel, managed by Davidson Hospitality Group, offers an enriching work culture with a robust benefits package that supports team members' well-being and professional growth. The Executive Chef role is not just a job but a calling to redefine hospitality through exceptional food and memorable guest experiences, making it a compelling opportunity for culinary professionals ready to make a significant impact in a top-tier boutique hotel environment.
