The role available at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa is that of a Pastry Chef who will be responsible for directing and coordinating all pastry and baking preparations across multiple hotel outlets. This position demands a strong leader to manage production schedules, control food costs and payroll, and oversee the purchase of supplies to maintain a high standard of quality and efficiency. The Pastry Chef will coordinate the creation of baked goods and desserts ordered by the hotel’s various dining and banquet outlets, as well as handle any special requests from these departments.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all work areas are maintained in a safe and clean manner, free of hazards. The Pastry Chef is also entrusted with training pastry associates, maintaining an organized kitchen environment, and adhering strictly to health department and Ecosure standards. The Pastry Chef plays an essential role in menu development, crafting seasonal baked and sweet offerings for all outlets and banquets. In collaboration with the Chef de Cuisine, this position also manages the Amenity Program seasonally.
Furthermore, the Pastry Chef is expected to stay current with food trends and modern pastry designs, participate in moments of service audits, lead demonstrations either onsite or through media engagements, and participate in pastry competitions. This role requires excellent communication skills as interaction with guests and associates is frequent. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, is required, along with the physical capacity to lift up to 25 pounds and endure prolonged periods of walking, stooping, standing, bending, and sitting.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous pastry chef experience
- ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- ability to communicate orally and in written form in English
- ability to perform physical activities such as walking, stooping, standing, bending and sitting possibly for more than 1 hour
- adherence to health department and Ecosure standards
- willingness to participate in pastry competitions and demonstrations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Schedule production work for associates
- controls all food costs and payroll
- responsible for purchasing supplies
