Job Description
The Cavalier Resort is a prestigious and iconic destination located along the Virginia Beach oceanfront, renowned for its luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and expansive meeting and event facilities. This celebrated resort is composed of three distinct hotels, nine restaurants, and over 70,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, making it one of the largest and most admired resorts on the East Coast. The resort offers a unique combination of historical charm and modern amenities, positioned to deliver an unparalleled experience to its guests, whether they are leisure travelers, business clients, or event organizers. The Cavalier Resort prides itself on its rich heritage, commitment to quality, and the seamless integration of elegant venues with the natural beauty of the coastal environment. Such a distinguished establishment invites professionals who are eager to thrive in a vibrant and dynamic hospitality setting where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are paramount.
The Executive Meeting Manager (EMM) role at The Cavalier Resort is a pivotal position within the high-performing Sales Team, designed for an ambitious, creative, and relationship-oriented individual. This role offers an exciting opportunity to represent a one-of-a-kind resort experience while playing a critical part in driving group sales business forward. The EMM is responsible for soliciting and booking group sales business across various segments including corporate, local volume accounts, SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal groups), government, military, training, and local demand generators such as hospitals and schools. Success in this role requires managing a high volume of sales inquiries through telephone and direct client interaction, generating compelling site inspections, and securing bookings for group business that typically involves a minimum of 25 room nights.
The position demands a comprehensive understanding of the resort's target market segments and a solid sales plan aligned with weekly and monthly booking goals. The Executive Meeting Manager will actively engage in upselling clients by recommending themes, décor, menu selections, and optimal space planning that enhance client satisfaction and exceed contracted food and beverage minimums. Proactive communication with the Director of Sales and Marketing is essential for tracking progress and aligning efforts with overall business objectives. In addition, this role entails meticulous management of customer data and solicitation activities using the resort’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, adherence to established sales guidelines and contractual protocols, and prudent management of sales and marketing entertainment funds. The EMM will also represent the hotel professionally in community engagements, industry organizations, and client entertainment, further enhancing The Cavalier Resort’s standing and fostering lasting relationships. Those who excel in this role will benefit from working in a prestigious environment offering outstanding opportunities for career advancement and professional growth within the hospitality industry.
