Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in hospitality industry
  • Experience in catering sales
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and revenue management
  • Understanding of hotel operations and market competition
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to comply with attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in hospitality with specific catering sales experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Experience in a hotel of similar size and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of sales techniques, revenue management, and peer training
  • Understanding of hotel features, benefits, and market competition
  • Ability to implement effective action plans
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, labor relations, budgeting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-term planning
  • Ability to perform effectively under deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptable communication style for various audiences

Job Duties

  • Understand monthly forecasting and annual budget process
  • Raise meeting planner evaluation scores by implementing effective methods
  • Optimize room rental charges
  • Participate in re-booking repeat business through maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Actively engage in industry-related organizations such as NACE and MPI
  • Apply strong sales, closing, and negotiating skills
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Collaborate with Chef to create innovative menus and coordinate with the banquet department on event execution
  • Provide overall direction and coordination for operations and detailed execution of banquet event orders
  • Manage Audio/Visual equipment as a profit center
  • Monitor group room blocks and generate detailed resumes for operating departments
  • Work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction
  • Comply with attendance rules and perform other job-related duties as assigned
